Sadia Hassan is a poet and essayist. She is the author of Enumeration (Akashic Books, 2020), selected by Kwame Dawes and Chris Abani as part of the African Poetry Fund chapbook series. Her work has appeared in Longreads, Hayden’s Ferry Review, the American Academy of Poets, and elsewhere. Hassan has received fellowships from The Mesa Refuge, Hedgebrook, the Breadloaf Writer’s Conference, and, most recently,
the Wisconsin Institute of Creative Writing. Hassan was a 2025 finalist for the National Poetry Series.
